Job Title:
Journeyman Electrician Job Description This long-term opportunity offers a 3-5 year assignment on a large-scale data center project located in Ellendale, North Dakota. The Journeyman Electrician will focus on power distribution and electrical infrastructure in a mission-critical environment, working full-time, 12-hour shifts from Monday through Friday. Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair electrical power distribution systems and infrastructure for a large-scale data center. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings to plan and execute installations accurately. Run and bend conduit (including EMT and other types) to support electrical wiring and cable installations. Pull, route, and secure electrical wiring and cable in accordance with project specifications and electrical codes. Install and terminate panels, switch panels, lighting, switches, and related electrical components. Perform low-voltage and medium-voltage installations and terminations as required by the project. Conduct electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner. Support industrial and commercial electrical construction tasks, including new installations and modifications. Follow all site safety procedures and electrical codes to maintain a safe working environment. Collaborate with other trades and team members to complete work efficiently and meet project timelines. Essential Skills Active Journeyman or Master Electrician license, with eligibility for reciprocity in North Dakota from one of the following states: Minnesota, South Dakota, Iowa, Alaska, Colorado, Idaho, Maine, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Utah, or Wyoming. Experience with conduit installation, electrical wiring, blueprint reading, construction, and electrical schematics. Proficiency in bending conduit and pipe, including EMT, to support complex electrical layouts. Ability to run conduit, pull wire, install lighting, switches, panels, and perform terminations. Hands-on experience with industrial electrical wiring, installation, and repair. Demonstrated skills in electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving in construction environments. Experience with low-voltage and medium-voltage electrical systems. Experience in commercial construction and commercial electrical work. Ability to install and work with switch panels, lighting systems, and related electrical equipment. Capability to read and interpret electrical schematics and cable installation plans. Strong preference for experience working on data center projects or similar mission-critical facilities. Additional Skills & Qualifications Master Electrician license is acceptable and valued where applicable. Previous experience on large industrial or commercial projects is beneficial. Familiarity with electrical components such as transistors and related systems. Experience working in cold-weather climates or outdoor construction environments is an advantage. Ability to work extended 12-hour shifts safely and consistently. Why Work Here? Work Environment The position is based on a data center construction site in Ellendale, North Dakota, with a project duration of approximately 3-5 years. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, working 12-hour shifts from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Work takes place in a large industrial construction setting, where you will be exposed to outdoor conditions, including North Dakota winter weather. Most work will be performed under a covered structure or within the facility, but you should be prepared for varying temperatures and environmental conditions. The role involves extensive use of typical electrical construction tools and equipment, including conduit benders, wire-pulling tools, and standard electrical test instruments, while following all site safety and personal protective equipment requirements. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ellendale, ND. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $60.00/hr.
