Job Description

Huffmaster Companies is recruiting for Journeyman Electricians for crisis support staffing. Must be able to travel and be away from home for a minimum of 45 days if the labor dispute lasts that long. Pay Rate $90/hr.

Job Requirements/Description:
Responsibilities include experience with 3-phase 480V and industrial troubleshooting to assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatus and fixtures, using hand, power and precision measuring tools. The electrician diagnoses malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. The electrician is responsible for the connection of wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. Responsible for observing and following all safety regulations and required PPE.
Essential Functions:
Perform basic electrician duties in manufacturing environment. Repetitive lifting, bending, twisting, squatting frequency. Ability to assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatus and fixtures. Maintain electrical equipment to meet regulatory codes at the country, state and federal levels. Perform rigging activities, safety related functions and other miscellaneous electrical functions. Demonstrate safe and proficient use of shop tools (both hand and power). Competent with programming VFD's. Must possess demonstrated ability to safely utilize a forklift and manlift. Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot PLC's. Must be physically capable of performing work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures. Proficient in testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system. Perform duties in a work environment that will be hot, cold, dirty and fast paced. Self-starter yet able to take orders as directed. Must have good communication skills and be able to interface with machine operators and set up personnel to troubleshoot equipment. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills & Education Possess a certified journeyperson's card (or similar contractual Journeyperson status) or documentation of or 4-8 years experience in specific trade from previous employer on company letterhead. 3-5 years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting. Working knowledge of basic electrical systems; ability to use multimeters and troubleshoot simple circuits. Proficiency in reading mechanical/electrical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs. Familiarity with PLCs, basic troubleshooting, and CMMS software preferred. Experience in CNC Machining applications, metal fabrication, conveyance, & automation. Available to work overtime and flexible schedule as required. Available to work any shift as required. Have a history of safe work practices. Be highly motivated and have an interest in manufacturing. Be a team player, who is flexible and easily adapts to change. Must strictly adhere to quality systems and follow all quality procedures. Uphold 5S standards, ensuring a clean, organized, and efficient workspace at all times. Actively identify and respond to safety concerns to maintain a zero-injury environment. Successfully complete a criminal and education background review, preemployment physical, and drug screening.
