ASAP I. SUMMARY
The Electrician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining facility electrical distribution systems, automation systems, lighting systems, controls, and related electrical equipment. This position supports facility operations by ensuring electrical systems and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes, safety regulations, and standards. The Electrician performs preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems and production-related equipment while supporting automation and control systems throughout the facility. This role requires working knowledge of motor controls, logic control systems, low-voltage systems, fire alarm systems, and voice/data systems. The Electrician utilizes technical expertise to diagnose electrical issues, complete repairs, maintain accurate documentation, and provide quality workmanship in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local regulations, and company safety policies.
II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 2.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities Install, connect, and maintain power supply wiring, conduit, lighting systems, general electrical devices, machinery, and building equipment. Troubleshoot, repair, and support production controls, automation systems, and electrical components throughout the facility. Diagnose malfunctions in transformers, motors, motor starters, MCC panels, MCC circuits, variable frequency drives (VFDs), lighting fixtures, and related electrical equipment. Replace damaged wiring, cables, components, and electrical connections as necessary. Maintain and service electrical distribution systems including: 3 phase, 4 wire, 277/480 VAC 3 phase, 4 wire, 120/208 VAC Single phase, 3 wire, 120/240 VAC Replace and repair faulty electrical and electronic components including printed circuit boards, relays, contactors, control buttons, switches, and related devices. Maintain building lighting systems including task lighting, parking lot lighting, emergency lighting, exit lighting, photoelectric controls, lighting contactors, and lighting systems controlled through the energy management system. Plan electrical layouts and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local regulations, and company standards. Perform preventive maintenance on electrical utilities, systems, and equipment operating at 480 volts or less. Complete all required paperwork, maintenance documentation, inspection records, and service reports accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain, organize, and clean the shop area and/or service vehicle, including inventory management, tool maintenance, and calibration of testing equipment. Follow all company, customer, and OSHA safety procedures while maintaining a safe work environment.
III. QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements Education Successfully completed an accredited Apprenticeship Program Must be 21 years of age or older Business Experience Minimum of 4 years of related electrical maintenance experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience Licenses/Certifications Must possess applicable electrical certifications and licenses as required by state and local regulations Valid driver's license required Language Skills Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, blueprints, and procedure documents Ability to complete reports, documentation, and correspondence accurately Ability to communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and employees Technical Qualifications & Skills Working knowledge of motor controls, electrical troubleshooting, and logic control systems Familiarity with low-voltage systems, fire alarm systems, and voice/data systems Knowledge of electrical distribution systems and preventive maintenance practices Ability to use electrical testing equipment, meters, and diagnostic tools safely and effectively Understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA regulations, and industry safety standards Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and automation-related equipment efficiently Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
