Position Summary:
The Waterford-Halfmoon Union Free School District is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to serve as Secretary to the Jr./Sr. High School Assistant Principal and Athletic Director. This position provides clerical support to ensure the efficient operation of school administrative functions and athletic programs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide clerical support to the Assistant Principal and Athletic Director Maintain confidential student and personnel records in accordance with district policies and applicable regulations Assist with scheduling, correspondence, and daily office operations Support athletic program operations, including scheduling contests, coordinating transportation, and maintaining athletic records Process paperwork related to student discipline, attendance, and athletic eligibility Communicate effectively with staff, students, parents, and community members Manage data entry and maintain accurate records using district systems Assist with event coordination and school activities as needed Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Strong organizational and time management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment Proficiency in office technology and software Prior experience in a school or office setting preferred Minimum Qualifications Candidates must meet one of the following Civil Service requirements: A. Possession of an Associate's Degree and one (1) year of clerical experience which must have involved the routine use of standard office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and databases; OR B. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma (GED) and three (3) years of clerical experience which must have involved the routine use of standard office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and databases; OR C. Three (3) years of college-level study may be substituted for the required clerical experience as described above.
