Jamestown Salish Seasons (JSS) is proud to be the first tribally owned and operated Evaluation & Treatment (E&T) facility in Washington State. Our 16-bed, voluntary-only residential treatment facility is designed around a low-volume, high-quality care model, allowing providers the time and support needed to deliver compassionate, patient-centered psychiatric care. We are seeking experienced and dedicated Psychiatric Providers to join our interdisciplinary team in a 24/7/365 behavioral health environment focused on crisis stabilization, recovery, and culturally responsive care. Schedule Full-time, 40 hours per week 4x10 schedule One position works Monday-Thursday One position works Friday-Monday Position Summary The Psychiatric Provider is responsible for conducting psychiatric evaluations, determining medical necessity for treatment, prescribing and managing psychotropic medications, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to support patient stabilization and recovery. This role reviews referrals and makes final determinations regarding patient admission to the facility. The Psychiatric Provider works closely with the Medical Director, nursing staff, and clinical team members to ensure safe, effective, and culturally responsive care. Essential Functions Psychiatric Evaluation and Treatment Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and intake screenings Determine medical necessity for admission, continued stay, or discharge Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team Provide crisis stabilization services for individuals experiencing acute psychiatric or behavioral health crises Medication Management Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications, including antipsychotics, antidepressants, anxiolytics, and mood stabilizers Ensure safe, evidence-based medication practices in accordance with state and federal regulations Monitor medication effectiveness, side effects, and adherence Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure accurate medication administration and documentation Clinical Decision-Making and Care Coordination Serve as the primary clinical decision-maker for psychiatric care within scope of practice Collaborate with the Medical Director, nursing staff, therapists, and other clinical team members to support positive patient outcomes Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings, case reviews, and care coordination activities Provide clinical guidance during urgent or emergent situations as appropriate Admission and Referral Determinations Review referrals and clinical documentation to determine patient eligibility and appropriateness for admission Make final decisions regarding patient acceptance or redirection to alternative levels of care Coordinate with referral sources, community partners, and internal staff to support smooth transitions Compliance and Quality Assurance Ensure clinical practice complies with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including RCW, WAC, HIPAA, and 42 CFR Part 2 Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QA/PI) activities Support audits, chart reviews, and corrective action planning as needed Cultural Competence Provide culturally responsive psychiatric care that respects the values, traditions, and needs of Tribal communities and diverse patient populations Collaborate with Tribal representatives and JSS leadership to integrate culturally informed practices into patient care Demonstrate cultural humility and awareness in all clinical interactions General Duties Participate in on-call or after-hours consultation as assigned to support 24/7/365 operations Adhere to all Jamestown Salish Seasons and Jamestown HealthCARE E&T
policies and procedures Perform other duties as assigned by the Medical Director Requirements Education Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Psychiatric Physician Assistant (PA-C) Current, unrestricted Washington State licensure Current DEA registration Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire Experience Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a psychiatric provider Knowledge Psychiatric diagnostic criteria and evidence-based treatment modalities Psychopharmacology and medication management best practices Crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques Healthcare confidentiality regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 Behavioral health documentation standards and EHR proficiency Skills Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to collaborate within an interdisciplinary team Sound clinical judgment and decision-making abilities Cultural competence and commitment to inclusive, patient-centered care Abilities Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Respond effectively to psychiatric emergencies Maintain professionalism, ethical conduct, and patient confidentiality Demonstrate adaptability, resilience, and sound clinical judgment Successfully pass a criminal background investigation Preferred Qualifications Experience in psychiatric, inpatient, residential, or institutional behavioral health settings Experience in crisis stabilization, Evaluation &Treatment (E&T), or acute behavioral health environments Experience treating individuals with serious mental illness (SMI), co-occurring disorders, or complex behavioral health needs Experience working with Tribal communities or culturally diverse populations Job Summary Company Details Company Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe Industry American Indian and Alaska Native Tribal Governments Job Information Location Sequim, WA Website https://jamestowntribe.org Job Type Full Time Employee Job Position 1 Position(s) Open Salary/Wage $137,954.00 - $193,135.00 /year Duration Over 150 Days Additional Information Testing Required Background checks Reference checks Federal Contractor No Affirmative Action Plan NoSimilar remote jobs
