Junior Varsity Boys Basketball Coach

Tri-Township Schools is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Junior Varsity Boys Basketball Coach to support the development and success of our high school boys basketball program. This position plays a critical role in assisting the head coach with daily operations, practice planning, skill development, and fostering a culture of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. The ideal candidate will be passionate about basketball, committed to student-athlete growth, and demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the head coach in planning and leading practices, drills, and game preparation. Help evaluate player performance and contribute to individual and team development strategies. Support in-game coaching responsibilities, including substitutions, strategy, and motivation. Foster positive relationships with players, promoting academic accountability and personal responsibility. Maintain clear and consistent communication with student-athletes, families, and school personnel. Collaborate with the head coach and Athletic Director regarding schedules, transportation, and equipment needs. Uphold and model Tri-Township Schools' expectations for conduct, sportsmanship, and student-athlete eligibility. Ensure a safe and respectful environment for all team members.

Qualifications:

Previous coaching or relevant basketball experience preferred, especially at the high school level. Strong understanding of basketball rules, strategy, and skill development. Effective communication, collaboration, and leadership skills. Ability to support a positive, student-centered team culture.

Requirements:

Must pass a background check in accordance with school district policies. Availability for practices, games, and team events throughout the season. Commitment to the mission and values of Tri-Township Schools and the IHSAA.
