$20.00 per hour Job description: Looking for a part-time role that keeps you active instead of behind a desk? We are hiring a friendly, dependable, customer-service-focused team member to assist with local junk removal jobs in the Iowa City area. You'll be working directly alongside the owner on job sites, making this a great fit for someone who wants hands-on work in a small business environment where your effort matters and you'll learn directly from the business owner. This role could be a strong fit for a college student, former athlete, mover, or someone with labor/customer service experience looking for flexible extra income. We're also open to discussing internship credit for students depending on school program requirements. ⸻ Pay $20/hour Training week paid at $15/hour ⸻ Schedule Expected hours: 5-8 hours per week Weekday availability required. Final schedule will depend on the right hire's availability, but ideal availability includes: One weekday morning shift (approximately 9:00 AM-12:00 PM) flexible One weekday afternoon shift (approximately 12:00 PM-3:00 PM) flexible Additional hours may become available depending on bookings. ⸻ Responsibilities Work directly with the owner on local junk removal jobs Lift and remove furniture, appliances, boxes, debris, and unwanted items Load trucks safely and efficiently Help create a positive customer experience on-site Represent the business professionally with homeowners, landlords, and local customers Work in both indoor and outdoor environments ⸻ Ideal candidate You are: Friendly and personable Customer service focused Dependable and punctual Physically strong and comfortable with demanding physical labor Comfortable with fast-paced, hands-on work Professional and respectful in customer-facing situations Self-motivated with a strong work ethic ⸻ Requirements Ability to repeatedly lift up to 150 lbs (with team support when appropriate) Reliable transportation Comfortable with physical labor Weekday availability Moving, labor, athletics, customer service, or junk removal experience is a plus (not required) ⸻ Great fit for ✔ College students ✔ Former athletes ✔ Movers / laborers ✔ Students seeking internship credit ✔ Someone looking for flexible extra income ⸻ Interview process Our hiring process includes: Round 1: Short Zoom interview Round 2: In-person interview / meet-and-greet ⸻ To apply Please send: Your work experience Availability Why you'd be a good fit Whether you're interested in internship credit (if applicable)
