Job Description
Cooke County Juvenile Probation is seeking a Juvenile Probation Officer. The Juvenile Probation Officer shall provide services to and supervise assigned juveniles and their families under the auspices of Title III Texas Family Code and departmental policies. Qualified applicants must possess a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in behavioral studies from an accredited four-year college/university, plus appropriate work experience in a related field dependent upon degree. Applicants must submit to a criminal background check, drug screening and meet minimum requirements to also be certified by the Texas Juvenile Justice Department. To be eligible for certification as a juvenile probation officer, an individual must be at least 21 years of age, be of good moral character, have no disqualifying criminal history, never have had any type of certification revoked by TJJD, complete the required training, and pass the certification exam within 6 months of hire.
