K-12 School Guidance Counselor (2026-2027)

Fairview School District is seeking a K-12 School Guidance Counselor for the 2026-2027 school year. We are looking for a team player who will assist in supporting all students in our district through positive encouragement. The counselor will implement the school counseling and guidance program curriculum; conduct counseling and guidance learning activities in the classroom for each grade level during the year in collaboration with the teaching staff. Establish and maintain effective relationships with staff and administrators; communicate with administrators, teachers, students, parents, and the community regarding the counseling and guidance program and its role in the educational program and the developmental needs of students. The counselor will serve as a reference source for current information on colleges, technical education, apprenticeships, armed services, and other educational programs and career opportunities, including scholarships, and will also serve as the 12th Grade Class Advisor (for an additional stipend). Fairview is an agricultural community located in the beautiful Yellowstone River valley along the North Dakota border near the Yellowstone and Missouri River Confluence.

Highlands further enhance the educational experience we provide for our students. Teaching salary depends on education level and/or verification of previous years of experience. This position has a one-month extended contract, two weeks before and two weeks after. Certified teachers receive a quarterly bonus based on the current oil revenues received. District housing within walking distance of the school is available at a reasonable cost, with access to a free on-campus community fitness room. Opportunities for extra-curricular positions may also be available.
