This position delivers instruction across all core subject areas, including English language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies, while differentiating lessons to meet individual student needs. The OE Teacher establishes a structured, supportive classroom environment focused on improving student engagement, behavior, and academic progress. The Classroom Teacher is assigned to a school and is responsible to the site administrator to teach one or more classes in an assigned grade level/levels.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the direction of the site administrator, the classroom teacher is responsible to assess and evaluate pupils¡¦ level of maturity and degree of competency in subjects taught in an assigned grade level. The Classroom Teacher shall provide leadership for development and improvement of curriculum in light of individual pupil needs. In consultation with the site administrator, the Classroom Teacher shall set educational objectives relative to pupil progress and shall periodically re-evaluate objectives as to their value for the students. The Teacher shall report to the site administrator or his/her designee, the amount of pupil progress at the end of each grading period as related to established goals and objectives as set at the beginning of the school year. DUTIES „X Shall maintain proper control and a suitable learning environment using disciplinary procedures that are appropriate for the age of the students. „X Shall demonstrate knowledge of subject matter by applying it in practical teaching situations. „X Shall present content and skills in subject area(s), utilizing a course of student adopted by the Board and such other learning activities as the teacher deems appropriate „X Shall promote pupil awareness of citizenship, basic communication skills and other general elements of the course of study common to all teachers, as specified in State law and administrative regulations and procedures of the District. „X Shall provide planned learning experiences designed to motivate pupils and best utilize time available for instruction.
