Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity shaping the future for elementary students in special education programs for the 2026-2027 school year. With three positions available, you'll work closely with young learners in specialized autism classrooms ranging from K-2, 1st-3rd, and 3rd-5th grade levels at a year-round school located near Albany, NY. As part of a dedicated educational team, you'll foster an inclusive, supportive environment while delivering tailored instruction and interventions. This position offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM (with a 30-minute unpaid break), totaling approximately 35 hours per week. The contract spans July 13th, 2026, through June 24th, 2027, and follows the school's academic calendar with holiday and spring breaks observed.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid New York State certification in Special Education (Students with Disabilities), or in process; support for recent graduates or candidates with out-of-state licensure available Bachelor's degree required; master's degree strongly preferred Demonstrated competence in drafting and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Experience working with elementary-aged students, especially within autism spectrum programs, is highly valued
