Immediately Job Description West Lyon Community School District is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic .5 Title/ .5 TAG teacher to join our elementary team for a 1 year contract only. This position includes small group instruction as well as full classroom instruction. Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active and engaged learning. Plans and materials must be in accordance with established district and Iowa standards Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities. Provide a variety of materials and resources for use in educational and classroom activities; prepare classrooms as needed for related activities. Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and endorsing rules and procedures. Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules, protocols, and disciplinary systems of the school. Assign and grade classroom work, homework, tests, and assignments. Provide feedback to students and/or parents, including suggestions for improvement or additional activities to improve academic achievement. Respond promptly to parent inquiries, concerns or requests for information regarding their student's assignments and/or activities. Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and evaluate student's performance and development, using information to adjust teaching strategies. Actively participate in professional development activities, teacher and school meetings, parent meetings, and other required activities as governed by the teacher's contract. Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability background Assist with other responsibilities as assigned
