JOB GOAL
The Kirksville Area Technical Center (KATC) Financial Aid and Adult Education Coordinator will increase access to postsecondary training by providing comprehensive financial aid guidance, enrollment support, and program coordination for adult learners and prospective students. This position is responsible for ensuring equitable access to funding opportunities, streamlining admissions and aid processes, strengthening partnerships with workforce agencies and community organizations, and supporting student persistence and completion in CTE programs aligned with regional workforce needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide comprehensive financial aid advising to adult learners and prospective CTE students, including FAFSA completion, scholarships, grants, employer-sponsored tuition assistance, and workforce development funding programs. Coordinate admissions, enrollment, and orientation processes for adult education and postsecondary CTE programs to ensure a seamless transition from inquiry-orientation- program completion. Serve as a liaison between the CTE center, financial aid offices, workforce agencies, community colleges, employers, and social service organizations to expand funding access and referral pipelines. Develop and maintain up-to-date resources, handbooks and outreach materials related to financial aid, career pathways, and adult education opportunities. Monitor student progress and persistence, identify barriers to completion, and connect students with academic or support services as needed. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to financial aid programs, adult education services, and grant requirements. Collect, analyze, and report data related to enrollment, financial aid utilization, persistence, and completion for program evaluation and funding accountability (i.e., COE, IPEDS, Safety) Maintain accurate student records and documentation in student information systems and case-management platforms. Update and Distribute newsletters, flyers, and promotional materials. Maintain and Update the KATC website the ensure compliance with COE regulations and requirements. Serve as a liaison with parents, partner schools, businesses, and community organizations. Coordinate and perform the 180-day Follow-up Data Collection in partnership with the Administrative Assistant and Instructors for KATC. During non-contract time for the Administrative Assistant, (summer months) maintain the front office to include fielding phone calls and answering questions from prospective students. Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Plans for Employment (IPEs), transition plans, or related service documents in collaboration with students, families, instructors, and vocational rehabilitation agencies.
OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties as assigned. This does not preclude the assignment of additional or supplemental duties. The District reserves the right to modify the assignment as needed to reflect such duties. Participate in Professional Development training. Working to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students, their parents/guardians, as well as business and industry concerning student performance in the career and technical education program.
PERFORMANCE EVALUATION
Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's Policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS
Duties performed typically in district settings to include the cafeteria, gym, recreational areas and other assigned areas. Physical demands can include but are not limited to: Exerts up to 40 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects including equipment such as audio-visual. Frequent walking, standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, and other limited physical activities are required. Mental demands can include but are not limited to: Comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, and synthesizing.
