Kennel Assistant

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and be responsible for providing a safe and clean environment for our furry guests. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of our facility, ensuring that all animals receive the highest standard of care while also assisting with customer service. Duties Provide daily care for dogs and other animals, including feeding, walking, and exercising. Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and common spaces to ensure a hygienic environment. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to management or veterinary staff. Assist with grooming tasks as needed, including bathing and brushing. Support pet owners with questions regarding their pets' care and well-being. Handle animals safely and effectively using proper restraint techniques when necessary. Assist in training programs for dogs as directed by senior staff or trainers. Perform heavy lifting when moving supplies or handling larger animals. Skills Experience in dog training or handling is highly desirable. Previous veterinary experience or familiarity with veterinary technician duties is a plus. Strong background in animal handling and care, including knowledge of animal restraint techniques. Ability to provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with pet owners. Experience in pet grooming or pet sitting can enhance your application. Familiarity with kennel operations or direct kennel experience is beneficial.
