The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, providing a safe and nurturing environment for pets in our facility. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of our kennel, ensuring that all animals receive the highest level of care and attention. Must be 18 years of age with a High School diploma or GED. Must also have reliable transportation (must own a vehicle). Duties Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and exercising dogs and other pets. Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas by performing regular cleaning tasks. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to staff or management. Assist with animal restraint during grooming or veterinary procedures as needed. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' needs and well-being. Handle animals safely and compassionately, ensuring their comfort during their stay. Assist in administering medications as directed by veterinary staff. Participate in training programs to enhance skills in animal handling and care. Requirements Previous experience in animal handling or pet care is preferred but not required. Strong customer service skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members. Knowledge of basic veterinary care or willingness to learn about animal health is a plus. Ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments safely. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and engage in activities such as walking dogs for extended periods. Experience with pet grooming or bathing is beneficial but not mandatory. Familiarity with kennel operations or pet sitting services is an advantage.
