Job Description
Description Join our team and make a meaningful impact every day! Under supervision, maintains sanitary conditions of the animal shelter, provides care for animals, and assists Animal Services Officers. May provide direction to temporary staff or volunteers. Examples of Duties Examples of duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Cleans and maintains animal kennels and surrounding areas including floors and hallways; Maintains inventory and notifies supervisor of any supplies that are required; Assists Animal Health Technician, Veterinarian, and Animals Control Officers with vaccinations of animals and kennel placement; Feeds, waters and provides enrichment to animals; Inspects animals for sign of sickness and disease; Maintains effective and positive relations with the public and other agencies; Provides direction to volunteers or temporary staff; and Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications Experience:
A minimum of six months of work experience involving animal care, custodial duties, or customer service. Experience working directly with animals is preferred.Education:
Equivalent to a high school diploma.Licenses and Certificates:
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Euthanasia Certificate within 9 months of hire date.Special Requirements:
Essential functions and duties require the following physical abilities and work environment: Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, crawl, twist, climb, and lift 50 lbs.; Exposure to heat, noise, outdoors, odors, vibration, confining work space, and chemicals; Constant exposure to animals.
