Kennel Technician

The job duties of the Kennel Technician include but are not limited to perform routine and technical services related to the maintenance, upkeep and improvements of the shelter; to care for the health, welfare, and well-being of animals at the shelter; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to County residents and the general public.

SCHEDULE WEDNESDAY-SUNDAY 9AM-6PM

Feed and water all animals housed in the facility. Perform intake functions following specified checklist when animals are brought to shelter, including such functions as: complete paperwork regarding animal history and appearance, administer vaccinations as instructed, caging animal in appropriate area, taking fecal sample for testing, and monitoring health of animals reporting any suspicion of illnesses or disease. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of facility including: scooping fecal matter inside and outside building, scrubbing and disinfecting inside and outside of cages and fencing, spraying outside housing of shelter with disinfectant, sweeping and mopping walking areas, scrubbing and disinfecting all feeding/watering dishes and litter boxes, maintaining clean bedding in clean cages, dusting objects and washing walls, bathroom, lobby and office area and trash removal.
