Join Our YMCA Family! The Whatcom Family Y is looking for nurturing, energetic, and responsible individuals to join our Kid Zone (Drop-In Child Watch) team! This important role helps provide a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children while their parents participate in Y programs or use the facility. What You'll Do:

Supervise and engage children (typically ages 6 weeks to 10 years) in a safe, caring environment Lead age-appropriate activities including games, crafts, and playtime Maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly space Communicate with parents and caregivers in a friendly, professional manner Follow YMCA safety policies and procedures Monitor check-in/check-out procedures for all children Why Work for the YMCA? QUALIFICATIONS

You are 16 years of age or older and have: Six months or more previous experience working with children; camps, childcare, tutoring, nanny, coaching. Other applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position will be considered. Ability to model and demonstrate Y values; caring, respect, responsibility and honesty. Experience implementing group activities preferred Preferred Education/Experience Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical activity, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
