Duties Assist with food preparation and meal assembly under the supervision of chefs and cooks Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations, utensils, and equipment Handle food items safely, following food safety standards and hygiene protocols Support with basic cooking tasks such as chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients Help with dishwashing, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly Ensure all food handling practices meet health regulations and safety guidelines Support catering and special event setups by preparing ingredients and assisting with service needs Qualifications Prior experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred but not required Basic knife skills and familiarity with cooking techniques are advantageous Strong understanding of food safety procedures and proper food handling practices Willingness to learn new skills related to meal preparation and culinary tasks Good physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks such as lifting and bending Enthusiastic attitude with a team-oriented mindset ready to support kitchen staff and serve guests effectively
