Kitchen Manager

Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee daily operations in a dynamic food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role involves managing kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining efficient kitchen workflows to support the restaurant's success. Duties Supervise and coordinate all kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure quality standards are met. Oversee inventory control, including ordering supplies, managing stock levels, and minimizing waste. Operate and manage POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate cash handling and sales tracking. Train, mentor, and evaluate kitchen staff to foster a high-performing team focused on excellent food service. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across the kitchen area. Manage shift schedules, assign tasks, and oversee daily operations to ensure smooth service during peak hours. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to deliver seamless customer service experiences. Assist in budgeting, cost control, and menu planning to optimize profitability. Lead staff recruitment efforts including interviewing candidates and onboarding new team members. Implement training & development programs to enhance culinary skills and operational efficiency. Requirements Proven experience in food preparation, kitchen management, or restaurant management within quick service & fast food or casual dining environments. Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS; cash handling experience is essential. Extensive culinary experience with a background in food safety, food handling, and food production. Supervising experience in a hospitality or restaurant setting with demonstrated leadership skills in team management and training & development. Familiarity with inventory control, budgeting, and food management practices. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to manage shift operations effectively. Previous experience in fine dining or banquet settings is a plus; hotel or catering experience is desirable. Ability to lead by example, motivate staff, and foster a positive work environment. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure.
