Job Description

Family owned bar/restaurant looking for a kitchen manager to work our kitchen 35 to 35 hrs a week. Popular cheers type atmosphere located in downtown West Branch. Pub style menu of burgers. fries, paninis, appetizers, and sandwiches. Our kitchen serves no deep-fried foods rather using commercial air fryers and grill. Quarterly bonus available to the right person. Fun place to work. If you can handle a fast paced environment at times but steady at other times you'll fit right in. Responsibilities Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow from prep to service and maintaining high sanitary standards. Manage inventory, order supplies, and track food costs to minimize waste and maximize profitability. Lead and supervise kitchen staff, schedule shifts, train new hires, and foster a collaborative team environment. Prepare a variety of dishes with consistency, quality, and timely service; monitor plating and portion control. Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements; implement HACCP or similar protocols as needed. Coordinate with front-of-house and catering teams for events, banquets, and special requests. Qualifications Proven experience in kitchen management and culinary operations, including inventory control and food preparation Strong leadership and team-management abilities; capable of supervising staff and coordinating across kitchen and service Skilled in food service management, catering, and restaurant operations with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency Experience with banquet events, dietary considerations, and fine dining service preferred Proficient in standard kitchen equipment, budgeting, and vendor communications; ability to oversee food production and inventory systems Bartending knowledge is a plus for beverage coordination and service continuity
