Kitchen Steward

JOB SUMMARY

The purpose of a kitchen steward is to ensure the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and its equipment, as well as assisting when directed with food preparation, washing dishes, and maintaining inventory. They are responsible for maintaining high levels of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for food preparation. Additionally, kitchen stewards may also assist with receiving and storing deliveries, restocking supplies, and assisting with basic food preparation tasks.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES

Ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and related areas. Washing and sanitizing dishes, utensils, and other kitchen equipment. Stocking and restocking supplies, such as food, utensils, and cleaning products. Clean all dry food storage areas daily. May at times assist in food preparation Removing trash, recycling from the kitchen, and disposing of it properly. Sweep and/or scrub all floors in the kitchen area Maintaining a safe and hygienic work environment. Reporting any maintenance or safety issues to management. Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Alina Lodge's policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with guests and co-workers. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and time management skills. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects. Knowledge of health and safety regulations. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands and work environment require walking, bending, standing, climbing stairs, driving, and running standard office equipment. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodation may be made for individuals with disabilities.
