CHILD NUTRITION MEAL APPLICATION AND VERIFICATION PROCESSOR
Qualifications High school diploma or its equivalent Degree or its equivalent from a certified university, business, or vocational school preferred Three years experience in general office work Proficiency in the use of micro-computers, word processing, and software programs Proficiency in typing, spelling, grammar, office practices, and knowledge of operation of office equipment and machines including a scanner Excellent communication and mathematical skills Ability to meet deadlines, prioritizes goals, and works with minimal supervision Ability to establish and maintain accurate records Excellent people skills Knowledge of the policies and procedures of the Child Nutrition Program desirable Experience in bookkeeping Reports to:CHILD NUTRITION SUPERVISOR AND OFFICE MANAGER
Specific Job Duties Responsible for management of the central office meal application network including typesetting application for printing, placing student labels on each application, stapling a no charge letter and a LACHIP flyer to each application, and distributing to each school; Checks for completion of applications and data processes applications into the computer; Responsible for maintenance of current eligibility data through Communication with cafeteria managers through data entry updates; Responsible for directly overseeing temporary clerks for checking meal applications; Handles calls from vendors concerning invoices; Sends status release form to students or parents who request a status release for certain programs; Responsible for all duties relating to meal applications verification, including focus sample selection, written notifications, verification of income documents and update of eligibility files; Participates in federal and state compliance reviews relative to meal application processing, maintenance and verification; Responsible for correspondence with State Department regarding applications, verification, Coordinated Review Effort, etc.; Works with supervisor on policy statement checklist to state department; Checks invoices, enters payables, mails checks, keeps up payable files weekly; Sends copies of vendor invoices of certain items to cool school to receive rebates including free merchandise for students; Scans all office records using the optical scanner; Sends menus to Tooned-in each month and completes the order; Distributes lunch money envelopes to cafeterias; Maintains a record of cafeteria employees' name, address, and telephone numbers; Types certificates for annual association banquet; Types School Nutrition Association dues worksheets to send to payroll for payroll deduction; Orders uniform shirts for each cafeteria employee as requested by supervisor; Performs all other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or by Superintendent Professional Attitude and Conduct Establishes and maintains appropriate respectful, harmonious relationship with administration, school faculty, other employees, students, vendors, and the general public Observes professional ethics as prescribed by the employee's profession/craft and in accordance with state law and board policy (GAl Solicitations, GAIB Solicitations of Staff Members, GAJ, Gifts) Adheres to Board policy, administrative rules and regulations Seeks, shares, and respects ideas of others Exhibits a caring, positive attitude towards others Maintains the confidentiality of all School Board business by refraining from accessing discussing or disclosing anything outside the scope of employment unless authorized by immediate supervisor Participates in professional growth activities, such as participation in seminars, conferences, workshops for improvement of knowledge and skills relating to best practices in the use of supplies, tools or equipment, and methods of operation Participates in professional activities on a local, state, and national level in assigned areas (include for appropriate personnel) Communication Understands and interprets written and verbal instructions from immediate supervisor and gives clear written and oral instructions to others as required Accurately compiles data, summarizes information and provides written reports when required Answers the telephone and receives visitors in a courteous and efficient manner Follows the chain of command for various administrative procedures Attendance and Punctuality Reports to work at the assigned time Attends work consistently Contacts Supervisor when absent Scans in or out using the employee scan system as appropriate Safety Completes task in a safe manner as prescribed by the Safety Department or by the employee's profession/craft Maintains a neat and orderly work environment Dresses appropriately for the job assigned and in compliance with state law and board policy GAMB Employee Dress Code Displays employee ID tag at all times while on duty Reports any unsafe conditions or any incidents of injury or damage immediately to the appropriate official Complies with policies GAMA Employee Tobacco Use and GAMD Drug-Free Workplace when on duty Terms of Employment 7½ hours per day - 12 months (240 days) There shall be a probationary period of 90 days from date of employment for new employees. After 90 days, a decision based upon an evaluation will be rendered in regards to the employee's status as a permanent employee. Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of non-instructional personnel The Superintendent reserves the right to change the job and any other duties, as required, with advance written notification. •Annual Salary is based on years of experience (0-40), with increases for advanced degrees.
