Education, Experience & Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred. Current Lab Assistant licensure in good standing through the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners. •Minimum 1 year of experience as a Lab Assistant in a Laboratory preferred. Analytical skills necessary in order to collect data, perform calculations, maintain system logs and operate laboratory computer equipment. Must be able to read, understand and follow MSDS sheets. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. Requires ability to work in controlled environment, following safety measures to minimize exposure to chemicals, body fluids, blood-borne pathogens, etc. Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Good organizational skills and ability to deal tactfully with a diverse group of people.
