Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will perform accurate specimen collection, processing, and laboratory procedures to support diagnostic testing and patient care. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will ensure high-quality laboratory operations and exceptional patient service. Responsibilities Collect blood samples through venipuncture and capillary puncture using proper aseptic techniques and physiology knowledge Prepare and process specimens according to laboratory protocols, ensuring proper labeling, storage, and documentation Assist with routine laboratory procedures, including specimen handling, processing, and testing support Monitor vital signs and observe patient conditions during specimen collection to ensure comfort and safety Maintain accurate medical terminology records and update patient information in laboratory systems Follow strict infection control practices and uphold high standards of aseptic technique during all procedures Provide excellent patient service by explaining procedures clearly, addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive experience Must have excellent communication and organization skills Must be able to work with the public in a professional and courteous manner, in addition to working as a team to provide the best quality of patient care Experience 6 months Prior laboratory experience or clinical laboratory experience required. Knowledge of laboratory techniques, procedures, and anatomy is highly desirable Experience with phlebotomy, blood sampling, venipuncture, and specimen collection is a plus Familiarity with hospital settings or healthcare environments enhances your ability to succeed in this role Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, and vital signs is beneficial for accurate specimen collection and patient care. Applicant must have a high school diploma or GED Applicant must have completed a phlebotomy education program or an allied health education program preferred Join us in delivering exceptional laboratory services that support accurate diagnoses and improve patient health.
