Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join a well-established clinical setting dedicated to high-quality patient care. Responsibilities Draw blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience. Prepare and label specimens according to established protocols for laboratory testing. Maintain accurate records of collected specimens and patient information, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy standards. Explain procedures clearly and reassure patients to foster a trusting environment. Follow safety protocols and proper infection control practices to ensure a sterile and secure work environment. Assist with processing and handling specimens, including transporting samples to the laboratory. Maintain clean, organized, and professional work areas, adhering to safety regulations. Demonstrate leadership behaviors by contributing to team efforts and process improvements. Perform other duties as assigned under the supervision of the area manager to support operational excellence. Required Skills Minimum of 6 months of direct phlebotomy experience with demonstrated proficiency in venipuncture, including pediatric and geriatric collections. Certified in phlebotomy (preferred; required in certain states such as California, Nevada, and Washington). Strong technical skills in blood collection and specimen handling. Excellent customer service and communication skills to create trust and ease for patients. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. Basic keyboard/data entry skills to maintain accurate records. Reliable, with proven punctuality and attendance. Nice to Have Skills Medical assistant, paramedic, or similar healthcare training background. Experience in retail or service environments emphasizing customer interaction. Knowledge of clinical laboratory procedures and safety standards. Ability to adapt to varying work schedules, including weekends, holidays, and overtime. Preferred Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior experience in phlebotomy for at least six months; one or more years preferred. Certification in phlebotomy is strongly preferred and required in certain states. Additional healthcare certifications such as CPR or first aid are advantageous. Other Requirements Must reside within a 20-25 minute commute to the assigned worksite. Must have reliable personal transportation—busing, rideshare, or similar options are not acceptable. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules. Demonstrated commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and customer service excellence. Ability to stand for long periods, perform repetitive tasks, and handle specimens with care.
