Job Description
Lab Technician With over 400 employees, 870+ Anaerobic Digestion (AD) systems, and 150+ AD-to-Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) plants built worldwide, PlanET Biogas Group is a global leader in biogas facility design, construction, and service. Active in North America since 2006, PlanET delivers proven, reliable Biogas and RNG technology tailored for a variety of feedstocks. In addition to technology supply, PlanET provides full operational support—including biological lab testing, operator training, preventative maintenance programs, tank cleanouts, and desulfurization solutions—to ensure long-term performance and efficiency. Responsibilities:
- Travel to northeast Colorado digester sites at least twice per week using a personal vehicle (approximately 350 miles/week) for sample collection; occasional additional travel may be required.
- Collect, transport, and process samples in accordance with established protocols.
- Perform a variety of laboratory analyses following standard procedures.
- Manage, assemble, and distribute sampling kits and shipping materials to ensure customers are properly equipped.
- Package, label, and ship samples in compliance with company procedures and applicable shipping regulations.
- Coordinate outgoing and incoming shipments, including tracking, documentation, and resolving delivery issues.
- Accurately record and transcribe laboratory results into electronic systems and communicate findings as needed.
- Prepare, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment, instruments, and supplies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory and workspace.
- Coordinate with Biology customers for on-time delivery of sample bottles and shipping supplies
- Send regular shipments of sample bottles and shipping supplies to Biology customers
- Greet PlanET guests and supervise the front office area
- Maintain inventory of essential office equipment, including consumables and shipping supplies
- Perform general laboratory and office housekeeping duties.
- Support PlanET staff with as-needed projects
Qualifications:
- A degree in a relevant field (Biology, Chemistry, or related discipline) or equivalent laboratory experience.
- Previous experience with sample analysis in a laboratory and/or field environment.
- Ability to drive approximately 350 miles per week with personal vehicle for sample collection and other site visit needs. The applicant's vehicle should be capable of traversing roads that can be rough and/or muddy.
- Good in-person and written communication skills that support coordination with staff at digester sites.
- Attention to detail with sample collection, analysis, and communication.
- Knowledge and practice of laboratory safety procedures, including the safe handling of biologically active samples and laboratory reagents.
Pay:
$25.00- $28.
