Job Description
Job Title:
Lab TechnicianJob Description As a Lab Technician, you will perform manufacturing and quality tasks in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), and Batch Records (BRs). Your role involves operating and maintaining process equipment, formulating reagents and buffers, assembling and packaging finished goods, and ensuring accurate inventory management. You will also be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting quality data, troubleshooting manufacturing processes, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Responsibilities + Operate and maintain process equipment including automated liquid handling systems, vacuum ovens, pumps, multi-channel pipettes, UV-Vis spectrophotometers, and pH and conductivity meters. + Formulate reagents and buffers according to specifications. + Assemble and package finished goods. + Identify and escalate process-related issues. + Collect, analyze, and interpret quality data; communicate findings to team leads or supervisors. + Maintain accurate inventory through cycle counts and process work orders. + Troubleshoot manufacturing processes as required. + Maintain a clean and safe work environment; actively participate in 6S initiatives. + Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and manufacturing personnel to support R D and process improvement activities. + Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager. Essential Skills + Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills. + Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in team settings. + Solid understanding of GDP, GLP, and cGMP requirements. + Basic knowledge of equipment upkeep, calibration, and maintenance. + Proficient computer skills, including experience with Excel, Word, and MES. + Working knowledge of MRP and ERP systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, engineering, or a relevant field of study. + 1 - 3 years of relevant experience in consumable manufacturing preferred. + Hands-on experience with surface chemistry is a plus. + Hands-on experience with automation is a plus. + An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered. Work Environment You will work in a manufacturing lab environment, which involves operating various process equipment. The role requires maintaining a clean and safe workspace, and participating in initiatives to improve workplace organization and efficiency. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
