Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) Compensation $95,000 - $115,000 Base Salary +
Shift Differentials, Overtime, and Full Benefits Location:
Alexander, ND Position Overview A growing healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to provide compassionate, high-quality care to mothers and newborns throughout the labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum process. This individual will play a critical role in supporting patients and families during childbirth while collaborating closely with physicians, midwives, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary care teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and effective in fast-paced, high-acuity environments. Candidates should be comfortable managing multiple patient care responsibilities while delivering exceptional patient-centered care during emotionally significant and medically complex situations. Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Clinical Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum stages Monitor maternal and fetal health status during labor and delivery Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed Assist physicians and providers during labor, delivery procedures, and emergency interventions Assess patient conditions and respond quickly to changes in maternal or fetal status Educate patients and families regarding labor expectations, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care Support patients emotionally during childbirth and recovery processes Labor & Delivery Support Operate and monitor fetal monitoring equipment Assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections Manage high-risk pregnancies and obstetric emergencies when needed Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation Coordinate patient care with physicians, surgical teams, neonatal staff, and ancillary departments Collaboration & Compliance Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes Maintain compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and patient safety protocols Participate in patient care planning, shift reports, and clinical handoffs Support quality improvement and patient satisfaction initiatives Qualifications Required Experience Active Registered Nurse (RN) license Minimum 1-2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience preferred Experience working in acute care or hospital environments Strong understanding of obstetric nursing practices and maternal-newborn care Ability to work effectively in high-pressure clinical situations Certifications BLS (Basic Life Support) required ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) preferred Fetal Monitoring certification preferred Preferred Skills Strong critical thinking and clinical assessment abilities Excellent bedside manner and patient communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced healthcare environments Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems Strong teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration skills Schedule & Work Environment Full-time opportunities available Day shift, night shift, and rotating schedules available Weekend and holiday rotation may apply Opportunity for overtime and shift differential pay Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary aligned with regional North Dakota market rates Shift differentials and overtime opportunities Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage Retirement savings plan with employer contribution PTO and paid holidays Continuing education and professional development support Relocation assistance may be available depending on experience MOHR Talent is an equal-opportunity employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local nondiscrimination laws.
