Cleveland Clinic Laboratory caregivers perform the diagnostic and consultative services that are the foundation for our world-class care. This role supports Partners in Women's Health, which specializes in Obstetrics & Gynecology. Laboratory Assistants are utilized to the top of their ability while remaining conscious of our accreditation requirements. In this role, you will have the opportunity to advance your skills each day, which can lead to moving into various other laboratory positions at the technologist level. A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00AM - 4:30PM or 7:30AM - 4:00PM , with weekend and holiday requirements . A caregiver who excels in this role will: Perform various laboratory procedures. Assist with receiving, identifying , accessioning, processing, transporting and storing specimens. Operate laboratory equipment and perform routine instrument maintenance, troubleshooting and minor repairs. Perform quality assurance activities. Maintain adequate stock of supplies and manage the inventory by transporting and distributing supplies. Complete three months of on-the-job training to learn department laboratory procedures, instrumentation and Cleveland Clinic policies Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

High School Diploma or GED Physical Requirements:

Requires manual dexterity and visual acuity when handling specimens and utilizing instrumentation. Ability to safely handle potentially infectious patient specimens, carcinogenic substances, odorous and other hazardous materials to which they may be exposed. Requires frequent sitting or standing.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range Minimum hourly:

$17.95 Maximum hourly: $25.50 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
