Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic recycling and scrap metal processing team as a Laborer dedicated to efficient, safe, and environmentally responsible operations. In this vital role, you will handle heavy materials, operate various types of equipment, and contribute to the sustainable reuse of metals and recyclables. Your energetic approach and attention to safety will help keep our facility running smoothly while supporting environmental conservation efforts. Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, forklifts, front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, and garbage trucks to load, unload, and transport scrap materials efficiently. Perform heavy lifting tasks to move scrap metal and recyclables safely around the facility. Conduct cleaning and sanitation duties to maintain a tidy and safe work environment, including debris removal and waste management. Assist with sorting, separating, and processing scrap metal according to safety standards and quality specifications. Support the loading and unloading of materials for shipment or storage using appropriate machinery. Perform routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs promptly. Follow safety protocols at all times, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to prevent accidents or injuries on site. Skills Proven experience operating loaders, excavators, forklifts, front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, or similar heavy machinery. Strong ability to perform physically demanding tasks involving heavy lifting and manual labor. Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to scrap metal recycling or waste management is a plus. Excellent attention to safety procedures and sanitation practices in industrial environments. Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting. Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors. Valid certifications in heavy equipment operation or forklift licensing are highly desirable.
