In this position, you will deliver evidence-based counseling, conduct assessments, and develop personalized treatment plans to support individuals on their path to recovery. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and intake interviews, to determine individual treatment needs. Provide individual and group counseling sessions utilizing therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, behavioral therapy, and applied behavior analysis. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans aligned with best practices in addiction medicine and mental health counseling. Facilitate crisis intervention and crisis management strategies to ensure client safety during acute episodes. Maintain accurate medical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, including case management and community outreach efforts. Collect data for research purposes, utilizing ICD coding (ICD-9/10) and CPT coding standards to support clinical documentation and billing processes. Requirements Valid licensure as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) or equivalent certification recognized in the state of practice. Proven experience in addiction counseling, behavioral health, or mental health settings—preferably with home & community care or hospital experience. Strong knowledge of psychotherapy techniques, motivational interviewing, crisis intervention, and behavioral management strategies. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare compliance standards such as HIPAA. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations with sensitivity and professionalism. Excellent communication skills for engaging clients in individual or group therapy sessions effectively. Experience with ICD coding systems (ICD-9/10) and CPT coding for accurate documentation and billing purposes.
