Job Description

Position Summary Lerch Brothers, LLC is a premier, high-end landscape construction company based in northern Baltimore County, Maryland. We specialize in designing, building, and maintaining luxury outdoor living spaces for exclusive clientele. We are seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Landscape Technician to join our elite team. While this role supports our overall high-end landscape installations, the ideal candidate will bring specialized, hands-on expertise in the servicing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of luxury pools, architectural low-voltage landscape lighting, and professional irrigation systems. Key Responsibilities Irrigation System Maintenance & Service System Optimization:
Service and maintain high-end, multi-zone irrigation systems to ensure optimal water efficiency and the health of mature plantings and premium turf.
Diagnostics & Repair:
Troubleshoot and repair issues with sprinkler heads, solenoid valves, smart controllers, sensors, and drip lines.
Water Management:
Adjust controllers and watering schedules based on seasonal weather patterns, Maryland water regulations, and specific horticultural needs.
Luxury Pools & Water Features Routine Maintenance:
Perform meticulous pool maintenance, including skimming, vacuuming, and brushing to maintain pristine, luxury estate standards.
Water Chemistry:
Test and precisely balance pool water chemistry, safely handling and applying necessary chemicals.
Equipment Troubleshooting:
Diagnose, repair, and maintain premium pool equipment, including high-efficiency pumps, filters, heaters, and smart-home automated control systems.
Seasonal Care:
Execute thorough and proper opening and closing procedures (winterizing and de-winterizing) for client pools.
Architectural Landscape Lighting Diagnostics & Repair:
Troubleshoot complex lighting layouts to identify and repair shorts, broken wires, or faulty fixtures, ensuring flawless nighttime aesthetics.
System Upgrades & Maintenance:
Maintain existing low-voltage architectural lighting systems, replacing components as needed and configuring smart transformers/timers.
System Optimization:
Collaborate with our landscape designers to ensure lighting is perfectly positioned to highlight architectural features, specimen trees, and hardscapes.
High-End Construction Support Site Management:
Maintain a perfectly clean, organized, and safe job site at all times, showing the utmost respect for the properties of our elite clientele.
General Landscaping:
Assist construction crews with specialized planting or hardscape adjustments as they relate to lighting, pool, or irrigation installations.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in landscaping or landscape maintenance, with a specific, proven track record in irrigation servicing, pool maintenance, and low-voltage lighting.
Irrigation Expertise:
Strong capability in diagnosing, repairing, and winterizing professional-grade irrigation and micro-drip systems.
Pool Expertise:
Hands-on understanding of premium pool filtration systems, plumbing, and water chemistry.
Lighting Proficiency:
Deep knowledge of wiring and troubleshooting low-voltage outdoor lighting and modern smart controllers.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, dig trenches for pipe/wire repairs, and work outdoors in Maryland's varying weather conditions for extended periods.
Licenses:
A valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation to our northern Baltimore County facility is strictly required.
Certifications:
Certified Pool Operator (CPO) and/or specialized irrigation certifications (e.g., Backflow Prevention, Irrigation Technician) are highly preferred and a major advantage.
