• Full-time We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Landscaping Associate to join our landscaping team!

The Landscaping Associate will assist in maintaining the grounds, gardens, and landscapes for various properties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs various landscaping duties such as planting, seeding, mulching, weeding, watering, feeding, transplanting, pruning, mowing, raking, sweeping, leaf blowing, etc. Operates gas and electric powered tools; mowers, power washers, edgers, sprayers, weed-eaters, blowers, chainsaw, hedge trimmers, etc. Uses an array of hand tools such as trowels, shovels, pruning shears, loppers, pole saws, etc. Maintains lawns, ground cover, flowerbeds, trees, irrigation systems and ponds. Applies fertilizers and weed abatement products. Sweeps and bags leaves, debris, dirt and trash and transports them to the designated collection point. Performs routine and preventive maintenance duties, such as cleaning gutters, power washing, cleans out drainage ditches and culverts, removal of debris. Prepares outdoor areas for various weather conditions by weatherproofing, covering outdoor furniture with tarps, tying down unsecured items, etc. Assists in monitoring and maintaining plant health. Adheres to all safety policies and procedures and reports any unsafe conditions. Keeps all assigned equipment, tools, vehicles and trailers in good and safe working order. Completes all projects and maintenance assignments according to instructions & company standards. Communicates any issues that arise to the Landscape Manager Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be 18 years of age or older. Excellent time management skills. Self-motivated with a high level of accountability and productivity. Highly organized with excellent follow-up and follow through. Strong communication, attention to detail, and organizational skills. Able to work individually and collaboratively as part of a team. Must be available to work overtime/extended hours when needed. Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather. Must be able to operate various gardening tools safely and effectively, such as a mower, leaf blower, power washer, rake, shovel, hose, trowel, etc. Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to lift/move/carry 60 pounds of a repetitive basis Possess reliable, insured transportation, valid California driver's license and an insurable driving record. Ability to travel to multiple company locations.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED. Proficient in the safe use of various motorized and manual tools. Minimum of one year of hands-on commercial landscaping experience. Plant identification and care knowledge is a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Fluent in Spanish in both oral & written formats. Bilingual, English/Spanish preferred. Ability to read, write, communicate, and comprehend instructions and correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Able to understand, follow instructions, and ask clarifying questions. Able to effectively analyze information, problem solve and make sound decisions/ recommendations based on the same.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid California driver's license. Insurable driving record and an appropriate, reliable, insured method of transportation. Must maintain a safe driving record.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee must frequently lift/move/carry/push/pull more than 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception. Required to travel to Company properties to perform the essential functions related to this position.
