Yes The City of Conway is accepting applications for a Code Enforcement Officer I position working within the City of Conway Physical Plant & Code Enforcement Department. The Code Enforcement Officer will investigate violations of City codes and ordinances for dwellings, premises, vacant lots and signs; initiate and document appropriate actions to ensure violations are repaired, condemned, razed, and cleaned in compliance with City ordinances.
Requirements are:
High School diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or equivalent, or six months to one (1) year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have and maintain a valid Arkansas Driver's License. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read and interpret laws, codes, ordinances and city, state and federal rules and regulations. Ability to issue citations to property owners and/or agents, and to testify in court involving violations of city codes and ordinances. Skill in the operation of photographic equipment. Ability to locate, read, and interpret legal descriptions, maps and ownership records. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds or more. Must be willing to work in an adverse physical environment (inclement weather). Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, co-workers and elected officials. Must have the ability to achieve work goals, follow City policies and safety procedures. Annual salary for the Code Enforcement Officer I position is $39,863 with a competitive benefits package. A background investigation will be conducted before employment can begin.
