Job Description

Job description: We are a non-profit 501c3 Animal Rescue Organization dedicated to rescuing companion animals from city and county animal shelters and placing them into loving homes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Leadership Teach and supervise kennel and office staff. Must be punctual and able to work in a team environment. Promote a positive attitude and demonstrate a commitment to the vision of the rescue. Demonstrated HR experience, including hiring, employee relations, staff development, performance management, and workplace policy compliance. Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills. Animal Care Monitor health of pets and make vet appointments. Transport animals to veterinary hospitals. Pick up animals from local city and county shelters. Be able to recognize when an animal is not feeling well. Administer injectable, topical, and oral medications to animals. Able to read dog body language (meeting other dogs, children, etc.) Knowledge about pets and how they adapt to new environments. Management and Regulatory Tasks Ensure that working areas are stocked with supplies at all times. Answer phone calls and emails in a timely manner. Counsel adopters, fosters and volunteers on various aspects of animal care and reinforce the proper care and procedures that should be followed at home. Talk to the public regarding adoptions, donations, volunteering, etc. Enforce strict adoption policies. Understand and carry out oral and written directions. Maintain positive, cooperative relationships with other employees. Perform other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS 2
years working with animals preferred but we will train the right person. 2 years managerial experience
TIME COMMITMENT
Full-time with an average of 40 hours per week, including weekend and holiday work.
BENEFITS
Full-time employees are eligible for insurance benefits after 60 days. 10 days paid vacation plus 6 paid sick days accrued within the first year of employment. Salary varies on level of education and experience.
