The City will not consider applicants who have used tobacco or nicotine products for a period of at least three months prior to application for employment. The definition of "tobacco or nicotine products" includes but is not limited to, cigarettes, cigars, chewing tobacco, pipes, snuff, e-cigarettes and nicotine patches or gum. This is technical work enforcing Land Development Regulations, Code of Ordinances, Building Codes and Standard Housing Codes. May inspect house and properties, contacting waste management on garbage and trash pickups.. Work is performed under general supervision of the Code Enforcement Supervisor.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned. Enforce applicable sections of the Land Development Regulations, Housing Codes and Code of Ordinances through inspection and review activities. Testify at Code Enforcement Board Hearings and follows up on Code Enforcement Orders. Issue notice of violations on public nuisance, housing code standards, zoning and building codes and abandoned vehicles. Patrol assigned area and investigate complaints called in by the public. Interact with public for assistance in interpretation of specific sections of the Land Development Regulations, Housing Codes and Code of Ordinances. Discuss with public, code violations. Fosters positive employee relations and employee morale on a City-wide basis.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Works inside and works outside in various weather conditions with possible slippery surfaces and uneven surfaces. Works at heights (up to 10 feet).
