Job Description
Under the supervision of City Manager, the Code Enforcement Manager provides management, administrative and supervisory functions overseeing the daily activities of the Code Enforcement Division. The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned. Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff: develops and oversees employee work schedules to ensure adequate coverage and control; compiles and reviews timesheets; approves/processes employee concerns and problems and counsels or disciplines as appropriate; assists with or completes employee performance appraisals; directs work; acts as a liaison between employees and management; and trains staff in operations, policies, and procedures. Organizes, prioritizes, and assigns work; prioritizes and schedules work activities in order to meet objectives; ensures that subordinates have the proper resources needed to complete the assigned work; monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work; consults with assigned staff to assist with complex/problem situations and provide technical expertise; provides progress and activity reports to management; and assists with the revision of procedure manuals as appropriate. Coordinates activities related to Code Enforcement; coordinates code enforcement hearings; cites offenders; reviews ordinances for updates; establishes and maintains annual budgets; establishes and bids out projects related to code enforcement; monitors foreclosed properties in City; coordinates activities related to code enforcement between city departments. Performs other related duties as required or assigned. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
High school diploma; and Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a similar related field; and Five (5) years' experience as a code enforcement, law enforcement, or conservation officer, with at least two (2) years in a supervisor or senior code enforcement officer status. Equivalent combination of education, training, certification and experience will be considered.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire or promotion. F.A.C.E. Code Enforcement Certification- Administrative Aspects of Code Enforcement F.A.C.E. Code Enforcement Certification
