Job Description
The City of Murphysboro, Illinois, is accepting applications for a Part-Time Animal Control Officer. Starting Pay for this position is $20.00 per hour. The primary duties of an Animal Control Officer is to: Protect both human and animal populations by enforcing animal laws and investigating cruelty or neglect. Investigate complaints from the public and other agencies regarding nuisance, stray, uncontrolled, dangerous or diseased animals. Conduct investigations of complaints regarding animal cruelty and neglect; investigate animal bites, arranging for appropriate identification and quarantine. Written reports of all activity shall be prepared. Employment applications MUST be submitted to be considered. Applicants that submit only a resume will be discarded.
