Job Description
This position is based off a 20-hour work week. As this position includes coverage of an Animal Pound where animals are sheltered on behalf the Town, the schedule will include days and/or nights, as well as occasional weekend coverage. More specifics on the exact schedule will be provided at the time of a formal job offer. Benefits includes the option of Health, Dental and Eye insurance. The compensation for the Assistant Animal Control Officer is starting at Step 1 or $25.69/hour. Candidates with relevant prior experience may be considered for a higher step rate of pay. Employees under this position will receive two weeks' vacation per year. Employees who complete six months of continuous service will also receive fifteen (15) sick days per year. All accruals will be prorated based on a 20-hour work week. The position is covered under a collective bargaining agreement with the Billerica Professional Administrators Association. A copy of this contract is available upon request. Employees with the Billerica Police Department are automatically enrolled in the Middlesex County Retirement System.
