Animal Control Officer II

Lenoir County Animal Control is hiring for an Animal Control Officer II. Do you have a passion for animal welfare and helping the citizens of Lenoir County? Animal control officers ensure the safety and welfare of animals and the public by enforcing state and local laws regarding animal care and control. The core responsibilities include obtaining stray or injured animals, investigating cruelty/neglect, handling dangerous animals, managing wildlife complaints, and enforcing rabies vaccination requirements. As a member of the Lenoir County Health Department, you can make a difference! The Health Department is seeking candidates for an Animal Control Officer. Candidates work involves enforcing the Animal Control Ordinance and North Carolina State Law that pertains to rabies control, animal cruelty and vicious animals. Must be able to communicate effectively with citizens of the County and City regarding complaints concerning animal bites, strays, nuisances' animals etc.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Graduation from high school with two years of law enforcement experience including one year as an animal control officer; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

Must possess a Valid N.C. Driver's License.
