The Animal Caretaker works under close supervision in the performance of most duties, provides for the care of laboratory animals, their housing and associated facilities, with primary emphasis placed on maximizing animal welfare and minimizing experimental variables relating to animal health and environmental sanitation. The Role Provide daily care for marmoset primates, e.g., watering, feeding, daily cleaning of cages, etc. Provide all other aspects of primate husbandry, including health checks, recording data and assisting Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians in health care and assist in environmental enrichment program. May be required to capture and handle non-sedated non-human primates. Our Ideal Candidate High school diploma or GED required Animal experience and/or bachelors degree in related field preferred. AALAS Certification at the ALAT level preferred. Must have valid driver's license and meet Texas Biomed driving standards. Available to work Monday-Friday, 7am to 4pm with rotating schedule covering some weekends and holidays
