Job Description

Position Description The Animal Placement Coordinator is responsible for coordinating meet and greets for potential adopters, review and approve adoption applications, and communicates animal needs to each adopter. The Animal Placement Coordinator manages the foster program for all animals. Job Responsibilities ▪ Work with appropriate personnel to document animal characteristics and behaviors such as activity level, good with kids, special needs, medical needs, etc. ▪ Identify care needs for animals and confirm adaptors can manage the animals care needs. ▪ Get to know the animals to help connect appropriate animals and adopters. ▪ Review the applications and approve or reject potential adopter's. ▪ Answer phone calls and email questions about adoptable animals. ▪ Coordinate with other shelters to transfer animals. ▪ Work with returning lost animals to owners. ▪ Coordinate with Events Planner or Marketing Manager to select the appropriate animals to feature at designated events. ▪ Coordinate meet and greets for potential adopters. ▪ Work closely with Animal Care Manager to understand any potential changes to the animals and care. ▪ Conduct adoption counseling to match adopters with suitable animals through conversation, education, and evaluation of lifestyle, household dynamics, and animal needs. ▪ Manages the foster program by reviewing and approving applications, ▪ Determining which animals need to be in the foster program and finding the appropriate foster for the animal's needs. ▪ Work closely with the Animal Care Manager to manage medications and vet appointments for animals in foster. ▪ Backup front desk as needed. ▪ Other duties as needed. Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a shelter or rescue is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Flexible, positive approach to challenges.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekend shifts and holidays.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Candidates must be able to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Candidates must be committed to treating animals and humans with kindness and respect.
Pay:
$13.00 - $15.00 per hour
