Job Specialist III-REC (Spanish Bilingual) State of Massachusetts - Department of Workforce Development - 3.8 Boston, MA Job Details Full-time $56,330.04 - $77,903.02 a year 18 hours ago Qualifications Statistics Computer operation Spanish Phone communication Filing Mid-level Direct mail Data entry Recruiting 1 year Associate's degree Legal translation services Client interaction via phone calls Full Job Description The Department of Unemployment Assistance (DUA) administers the Unemployment Insurance (UI) program which provides temporary income assistance to Massachusetts workers who are unemployed through no fault of their own and who can work, are available for work and looking for a job. Incumbents of positions in this series interview customers for unemployment insurance programs; explain program policies and procedures to customers; refer customers to other agency programs; review customer data and provide customer assistance; perform related work as required. Duties include but are not limited to the following: Interview customers of agency unemployment insurance (UI) programs, by telephone, in person or virtual, to obtain record and input to UI Online or other agency system as needed, to determine initial and/or ongoing eligibility of customers for programs and services. Explain to customers, by telephone, in person or virtual, such matters as: proper preparation of agency forms and materials, program policies and procedures, service availability, rights and responsibilities of all parties, reporting requirements and benefits of programs and services. Refer customers to agency services as required by reviewing data gathered from interviews and written applications. Interact by telephone or in person in a professional manner with customers and operate computers and peripheral equipment following established procedures and guidelines. Perform related duties such as speak, read, and write Spanish fluently, be able to translate UI Law and procedures, perform data entry, statistical calculations, author appropriate responses to customers, creating reports, file, process, and direct mail, among other required duties. When working at the Reemployment Center you are required to work in person Monday through Friday.

- Qualifications First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days.
Minimum Entrance Requirements:
Applicants must have at least (A) three years of full time, or equivalent part-time, professional or paraprofessional experience in any of the following: (a) personnel interviewing, recruitment or job placement; (b) employment, vocational, educational, psychological, sociological, or rehabilitation counseling or guidance; (c) credit or claims adjustment interviewing; (d) job analysis or position classification work, and of which at least (B) one year must have been in a professional capacity, or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.Substitutions:
I. An associate's degree from a recognized college or university may be substituted for one year of the required (A) experience.- II. A bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university may be substituted for two years of the required (A) experience.
- III. A graduate degree with a major in education, vocational or rehabilitation counseling, or public administration may be substituted for the required experience
- Education towards such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
