Job Description
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is now accepting applications from qualified individuals interested in joining our team as an Armed Security Officer/Bailiff. This position is responsible for maintaining security, safety, protection, and order within the County court buildings and courtrooms. Duties include screening visitors, operating security equipment, responding to emergencies, assisting in court proceedings, transporting prisoners, and enforcing courthouse security procedures to ensure the safety of judges, staff, jurors, and the public. Minimum qualifications for the position are as follows: Must possess a high school diploma or GED Must have one (1) year of experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field; OR any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position Must be at least 21 years of age Must possess and maintain a valid PA driver's license Must possess an Act 235 certification (Act 120 certification is also acceptable) Must successfully complete annual firearms/use of force training and qualification If you are seeking a meaningful career in the security field where you can play an important role in maintaining the safety and order of courtroom proceedings, we encourage you to apply for the Armed Security Officer/Bailiff position within the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
