Job Description

Boulder County Coroner's Office is seeking to hire a Coroner's Office Intern Summer 2026 - Medicolegal Investigations . Collegiate opportunities will be during the Spring, Summer and Fall terms. Collegiate interns will have to follow any expectations set by their school if they are completing the internship for credit. Non-collegiate opportunities will also be available on a case-by-case basis. Both collegiate and non-collegiate individuals must be able to commit to 12-20 hours per week, during the term. This internship is not a paid or benefited position. The internship dates are June 1 to August 7, 2026. This position will work 12-20 hours per week, Monday - Friday 7:00am - 8:00pm , depending on scheduling needs. This position will work out of 5610 Flatiron Parkway, Boulder, Colorado. Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.

Week of April 27th Medicolegal Interns will rotate through each division of the office to include investigations, pathology, family assistance and administration, but will focus on forensic investigations and postmortem examinations Participants may be exposed to environmental & biological hazards during the internship Each participant will be required to create and present a PowerPoint presentation on a chosen topic of interest near the end of the internship Interns will observe investigators during scene responses Interns will observe pathology staff complete autopsy procedures Performs related work, as required

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of c urrent college enrollment• or college graduation from a nationally accredited college or university . If currently enrolled, a minimum GPA of 3.0 pursuing a bachelor's degree with a concentration in an applicable field of study such as health or human science, forensic science, or criminal justice

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Current college enrollment or college graduation from a nationally accredited institution of higher education, 3.0 GPA or higher Field of study such as health or human science, forensic science, or criminal justice
