  • Metropolitan is accepting applications for one Supervisor I position, permanent full-time.
Working Title:
Assistant Forensic Services Manager, Forensic Services Department. Under the general direction of Supervisor ll, Supervisor I is responsible for managing a broad range of governmental, supervisory, and program related challenges. The employee will support Supervisor ll (Forensic Services Manager) in managing a team of Analyst ll's, Analyst l's, Office Technician, and Office Assistant. The employee will formulate and manage policies and procedures, make recommendations on a broad spectrum of administrative and program-related challenges. The employee will also work both internally and externally on Forensic-related matters, including but not limited to Superior Courts, District Attorneys, other State Hospitals staff, and other state and local agencies pertaining to patients' Forensic matters. The employee will also be responsible for tracking and processing staff's timekeeping, including but not limited to review staffs time off requests, reviewing and processing timesheets, working with Human Resources Department on various personnel matters related to staff in the Forensic Services Department (tracking leave balances, coordinating staff coverage, processing probation reports, conducting performance evaluations, EEO, EAP, etc.) The employee will also assist and coordinate new employee recruitment efforts. Responsible for managing multiple staff while multitasking on various assignments, the employee must have the ability to fully process duties outlined in all Forensic desk procedures within the Forensic Services Department. The position requires excellent attendance, strong attention to detail, excellent leadership skills, and strong analytical skills. Must be able to read and interpret California Penal Code; Welfare and Institution Code; Case Law and Court Orders. May act as a lead on behalf of the Supervisor ll. The position requires previous managerial/supervisory experience, excellent communication skills (written and verbal), excellent attendance record, attention to detail, and must be able to work effectively with both internal and external entities (e.g., various hospital staff, DSH personnel, various legal personnel, etc.) Excellent computer skills are also required, as the department utilizes Microsoft Office. lf interested in the position, please submit a completed
