This open competitive advertisement is for a SES (Selected Exempt Service) position located at Central Office in Tallahassee, FL in the Bureau of Classification Management. The mission of the Bureau of Classification Management in the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to ensure the proper assessment, classification, and placement of inmates within the correctional system. This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES
Audit Leadership:
Conduct bi-annual audits and site visits of privately contracted Community Release Centers (CRCs) to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
Inmate Placement Oversight:
Approve, disapprove, or modify Community Release inmates' placements and terminations based on program requirements.
Data Analysis:
Analyze and maintain data to identify trends and address deficiencies within Community Release Centers.
Liaison Role:
Serve as the primary point of contact between Central Office, field staff, and vendors, acting as an ombudsman to address concerns and ensure smooth communication.
Program Management:
Oversee the Statewide Community Release Auditing/Monitoring Program, including the preparation and revision of annual audit schedules.
Team Supervision:
Supervise Correctional Services Consultants and review their audit reports and corrective action plans for policy compliance and quality assurance.
Background and Security Checks:
Review
NCIC/FCIC
background checks, process Security Access Requests (SAR), and monitor level 2 background clearances for contracted employees.
System Monitoring:
Review, update, and monitor data activity in the Work Release Information System (WRIMS) to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.

REQUIREMENTS
Please note, when submitting a college/university degree, if selected for this position official transcripts will be required. Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent. Must have SEVEN (7) years of experience working in a professional Classification, Correctional Officer Series, or Probation Officer position (professional classification includes Classification Officer or higher; Correctional Services Assistant Consultant or higher). Must have at least TWO (2) years or more of experience as a Classification Supervisor-SES or higher.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Currently employed with the Florida Department of Corrections. Support of knowledge, skills, and abilities should be demonstrated on the application, in the education, in the work experience, in the work sample, in the interview and/or during reference checks.

BACKGROUND
SCREENING REQUIREMENT
