Job Description
Job Responsibilities Under limited supervision from the Warden, Chief of Inmate Grievance Branch, and Central Office Inmate Grievance Administrators, Performs a wide variety of administrative duties for the inmate grievance branch. Investigates grievances by conducting thorough and impartial inquiries of circumstances pertaining to grievances through interviews with inmates and staff. Analyzes specific information obtained and prepares recommendations designed to resolve problems at the lowest possible level. Reviews and research SCDC policies, relevant/mandated statutes, disciplinary tapes, and any documentation related to grievances. Interprets rules, regulations, policies and procedures as they apply to day-to-day operations and to the grievance procedures. Accepts and forwards appeals to central office. Serves inmates with Step 1 and Step 2 grievance decisions. Performs other duties as assigned. Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire. Minimum and Additional Requirements State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and relevant program experience.SCDC Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and four (4) years of responsible clerical, secretarial or administrative experience preferably in a correctional or law enforcement setting. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the related work experience. Required to have experience in personal computer, leadership, law enforcement/paralegal/research or investigations.
