Job Description

Job Summary The Correctional Officer plays a critical role in maintaining safety and security within correctional facilities. This position involves overseeing the conduct of inmates, ensuring compliance with facility rules, and maintaining order. The Correctional Officer is responsible for preventing disturbances, managing conflicts, and responding to emergencies while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. Responsibilities Monitor inmate activities and behavior to ensure compliance with facility regulations. Conduct regular inspections of facilities to maintain safety and security. Write detailed reports on incidents, inmate behavior, and daily activities. Respond promptly to emergencies or disturbances, utilizing conflict management techniques. Enforce rules and regulations while maintaining a respectful environment for inmates. Provide first aid and CPR when necessary, ensuring the health and safety of all individuals within the facility. Collaborate with law enforcement personnel as needed during incidents or investigations. Skills Proficient in report writing to document incidents accurately and effectively. Ability to apply militarized approaches to maintain discipline and order within the facility. Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred or required. Background in law enforcement is advantageous for understanding legal procedures and protocols. Strong conflict management skills to de-escalate tense situations effectively. Excellent communication skills to interact with inmates, staff, and visitors professionally. This position requires individuals who are dedicated, observant, and capable of handling high-pressure situations while ensuring the safety of everyone involved.
